Rating: A — A lightning-fast, binge-worthy domestic thriller that hooks you from the first chapter and doesn’t let go.
Kiersten Modglin’s The Arrangement is the kind of thriller you can devour in a single sitting—or, if you’re an audiobook fan, let yourself sink into with the brilliant narration by George Newbern and Sarah Mollo-Christensen. Ainsley Greenburg has built her identity around fixing what’s broken, but when her marriage begins to fracture, she decides to take a desperate—and dangerous—step to hold it together. What starts as a salacious, rule-based “arrangement” between Ainsley and her husband Peter quickly spirals into a web of broken promises, mounting lies, and devastating consequences.
This is domestic suspense at its sharpest: fast-paced, compulsively readable, and brimming with tension that makes you wonder just how well you know the person you share a life with. Modglin plays with themes of secrecy, temptation, and betrayal in ways that feel disturbingly plausible, keeping the reader off balance until the very end. It’s twisted, unsettling, and leaves you itching for the next book in the series.
